Plaintiff’s mother presented to the Defendant hospital at 36 weeks gestation with vaginal bleeding. The fetal heart monitor showed bardycardia and then stabilized. She was then observed for two hours, and then a C-section was performed. Plaintiff alleged that the healthcare providers failed to recognize the signs and symptoms of a uterine abruption and that the earlier failure to mobilize delayed the C-Section. This resulted in the baby being born with mild mental retardation and cerebral palsy.
